Three. It's bigger than 2.

Happy Third Anniversary to us! I am amazed every single day by the growth of our happy little barn. We have been full for nearly a year now, with a consistent waiting list. It means so much to hear feedback from people who have toured the facility, like, “I will tell you that out of all the barns I saw, yours was the very best. Very nice facility! You’ve done an excellent job.” Or from my boarders, who call this place home, saying, “I know that so many of us absolutely love everything that you do for Little Reata and for us to keep it running smoothly! It truly is one of a kind!” Everything about the last three years has been a labor of love.

This year’s anniversary party had 30 people! We had a taco bar, a reverse White Elephant (where I provided all the gifts), and everyone left with a custom fly mask. It was such a fun night spent with people who truly appreciate being part of this family.

In less than six weeks, the outdoor arena will get some much-needed love. After many years of disuse, some very wet Davis winters, and three years of heavy use, it’s time. That makes two major arena renovations in less than a year. After three full years of massive improvements, I’m hoping the big-ticket items start to slow down.

I’m also incredibly excited about the progress with the non-profit. Veterans Equine Therapy (VETs) is now official! Dorothy and I are looking to get certified with Eagala and/or OK Corral Series. I’ve met a few wonderful therapists, and the goal is to offer the first clinic for veterans before February 2027. The little seed that was in the back of my mind when I purchased this place three years ago is now a living, breathing entity.

Every time I sit down to write one of these blogs, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. So many people have been supportive and involved in the growth of both the business and the non-profit. First and foremost, thank you to all my boarders for making living and working here such a pleasure. You are the heartbeat of my business. And a special thank you to Bubba, Melly, Dorothy, Sterling, Karen, and Lisa for always being the voice of reason—and the reason to laugh. I wouldn’t want to do this without you!
