Little Reata Stables offers full-service horse boarding in Davis, with daily feedings, regular turnout, and two arenas.
BOARDING AT LITTLE REATA STABLES
Here are the daily routines and facilities included with boarding at Little Reata Stables.
We feed three times per day. High quality alfalfa, grass and teff. Up to four flakes of hay per day is included. Grain feeding is provided for free at lunch or dinner as long as the owner does the mixing and everything is kept in a critter-free container.
Daily turn outs are provided. Turn outs are approximately two hours per day, with a minimum of five days a week. They may be adjusted for schedules, high heat, strong winds and rain.
Regular daily cleaning and fresh shavings are included. Two fully enclosed arenas- one indoor, fully lighted, laser leveled riding arena and one fully fenced outdoor arena. Each arena has received new footing within the last 18 months and they are dragged regularly. Both arenas have sprinkler systems. Riding is also available on the back of the property, our neighbor's property and there are miles of riding trails along the irrigation ditch.
We regularly check on all our horses, and give them the occasional treat. Each barn has relaxing music at night to help keep the horses calm. Every stall/paddock has fans and misters, making summer temperatures a little more comfortable! Each barn also has a fly abetment system that keeps those pesky fly numbers as low as possible. We want your horse to feel special and at home.
Boarders have access to both arenas and the round pen.
The enclosed, lighted arena has laser-leveled footing that is groomed regularly.
A fully fenced arena for riding outdoors.
The 50-foot round pen is available for groundwork and exercise.
Irrigation ditch trails are also available across the road.
After serving as a U.S. Army helicopter pilot and raising her family, Michelle returned to Davis and opened Little Reata Stables in 2023 on the former Happy Horse property.

Nice facility with lots of extras to pamper the ponies (misters, fly abatement, turnouts) and take care of their owners (indoor arena that's groomed daily, organized tack rooms). The owners seem to be very dedicated to making it a special place.
I’ve visited Little Reata Stables several times, and each visit leaves me more impressed than the last. While I don’t board a horse here myself, it’s clear that the owners truly care about every horse on the property. The horses are well cared for, and the facility is always clean and organized. What stands out most is the friendly, welcoming atmosphere the owners create. They are approachable, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do.
